Star Trek Sequel

November 17, 2011 by staff

Star Trek Sequel, Earlier this week, it was finally confirmed what had become really quite clear, that JJ Abrams’ Star Trek sequel wasn’t going to get a cinema release in 2012. Instead, the earliest we’ll be getting to see it is summer 2013.

However, it’s full steam ahead in all other regards for the film, as it’s now been revealed that it’ll be going before the cameras from January 15th next year.

The news has been broken by TrekMovie, which also reveals that the draft script is done and in place, and is now being tinkered with to fit the allocated budget for the movie. Furthermore, most of the design work for the film has been done, too, although there’s less to do this time around, given that sets from the last movie are being reused.

JJ Abrams has apparently checked out Hawaii in his hunt for places to shoot for the film, as he’s looking for a “jungle planet” location. The site also reports that a Los Angeles museum will be standing in for a “famous Star Trek location”.

TrekMovie has a few more details on top of all of that, which you can find here. And we’ll keep you posted as we hear more about the new Star Trek movie…
