Sri Krishna Committee Report

Sri Krishna Committee Report, India, PM Dr Manmohan Singh is likely to constitute a group of ministers to study the Justice Srikrishna Committee report on Telangana State before making the contents public. The committee should submit its report in two volumes to the Interior Minister of the Union, MP Chidambaram on Thursday. The AP government has directed the security measures, through the infusion of 18 companies of security personnel of the Centre.

As the committee was appointed by the Ministry of Interior of the Union, it is not necessary to the public until its contents GoM submits report, sources told the newspaper. The government does not release the report without forming an opinion on the content.

According to sources, Dr Singh had a meeting with the Minister of Finance of the Union, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Chidambaram, the Defence Minister, Mr AK Antony and Union law minister Mr Veerappa Moily, in addition to senior officials of the PMO.

According to sources, Mr Chidambaram has informed his colleagues on security arrangements made by the home ministry to ensure that the situation is not out of control. Some forces have been kept standby to meet any eventuality, “he said.

It is likely that the GoM will be headed by Mr Mukherjee, who had earlier addressed the contentious issue of UPA state bifurcation AP-1. The ministers, Mr Sharad Pawar (NCP), Ms. Mamata Banerji (Trinamool) – facing demands bifurcation in their own state – and Mr. Dayanidhi Maran (DMK) are recoverable by the GoM besides Mr Chidambaram and M. Moily.

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ms Ambika Soni discussed the opinion issued by the News Broadcasters Association (NBA) using television channels to be cautious in their reporting of the report.
