Sprint, Yesterday, Sprint (NYSE: S) announced they have added 1.1 million subscribers in Q4 2010. Sprint reported 49.9 million wireless customers at the end of Q4 2010.

Today I learned of an agreement, which Sprint hopes to increase those numbers even higher for the first quarter of 2011. If you move your existing phone number to Sprint and the purchase of a unit, Sprint will give up 125 in credit on your monthly bill. You still need to sign a two-year contract with Sprint.

If you buy a regular phone, Sprint will provide a loan of $ 50. If you buy a smartphone, Sprint will provide a credit of $ 125. Sprint considers the following phones as smartphones, Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile, Palm and Instinct family of devices. ”

On February 1, Sprint began charging a $ 10 premium data “charge for all smartphones activated after that date. One could say that this agreement would allow a free year of the tax data on premiums.

What I do not know is that if you can transfer a number Google Voice over and claim $ 125. Sprint did not say in their face legal terms, “upgrades, replacements, and ports add-a-phone/line transactions between entities or suppliers associated with Sprint Sprint are excluded (ie Virgin Mobile USA Boost Mobile, Mobile Hundred and insurance). “If you cannot port a number over, it looks like a very hot affair. That is if you’re not one of the billion people in the U.S. on the line for an iPhone Verizon.
