Space Shuttle LaunchSpace Shuttle Launch, NASA has approved the space shuttle Atlantis for a launch later this week, but the sad weather is clouding plans for next Friday (08 July) launch.

NASA officials voted unanimously today (July 6) to clear Atlantis for launch, setting the stage for the final mission of the 30-year history space program space agency aircraft, agency officials said through Twitter.

The latest weather forecast predicts 70 percent of thunderstorms and rain near the launch site near the sea where Atlantis is ready for an 11:26 a.m. EDT (1526 GMT) liftoff Friday.
