Sorkin New Hbo SeriesSorkin New Hbo Series, Aaron Sorkin has been in TV pilot on the comings and goings in a cable news network green light by HBO, the network announced Thursday.

Jeff Daniels, 56, will star in the series as a cable news anchor who strives to be ethical among the many challenges of today. Also in the cast are Emily Mortimer as his producer and Sam Waterson, as their leader, along with Alison Pill, John Gallagher Jr., Olivia Munn, Dev Patel and Thomas Sadoski.

Sorkin, 50, won an Oscar for his screenplay for “The Social Network”, and received critical acclaim for his television series length “The West Wing.” He will be the executive producer and writer of the new series, tentatively titled “More as this story develops.”

In a press release from HBO, said the characters contained in a “patriotic and quixotic mission to make the news well in the face of trade barriers and corporate and personal entanglements.” The network did not say when production will begin or how many episodes were ordered.
