Softball World Series, Oklahoma State was the first of the eight teams in the Women’s College World Series softball being eliminated by losing Saturday, 02.06, at the University of California. The series is being held in Oklahoma City. The Cowboys were up 2-0 when Ashley Golden Bears’ Decker, a rookie, hit a bases-loaded triple in the fifth inning by the right-field line that cleared the bases and provided the winning runs.
OSU finished the season 42 and 20. The second team to be eliminated was Oklahoma. The Sooners fell to Big 12 rival Missouri, 4 to 1. Final and 2-0 after giving up two unearned runs, OU made another big mistake in the sixth inning. Mizzou attempted a suicide squeeze play, but the batter could not make contact. With the passage of the tiger perched between third and home plate UO launched but no one covered and two runs scored.
