Snake Charmer’s Slithering Protest, Frustrated over bureaucratic apathy toward his application for a piece of land, An Indian snake-charmer let loose dozens of snakes in a government office forcing the officials to flee for their life.

Frightened officials leapt onto their desks or ran out of the building on seeing the slithering reptiles in the land revenue office at Harraiya town in India’s northern State of Uttar Pradesh, media reports said on Thursday.

The snake-charmer identified as Hakkul had applied for a plot of land to keep his snakes, but there is no provision for outright sanction. Instead of seeking a written reply, Hakkul released the snakes, including some poisonous cobras, from three gunny bags he brought to the office creating a panic in the office, the reports said quoting a land revenue official.
