Smartphones, Microsoft and its partners will develop less expensive versions of telephones in Windows 7 if they want to compete with offerings from rival Google, according to one industry observer.
Gartner’s Carolina Milanesi, a blog, said the lists debut of Windows Mobile 7 phones from AT & T and T-Mobile, most of which sell for about 200 with a contract and do not provide enough variation in options pricing and lack of budget in mind.

“At the launch from devices with high-end ensuring a higher level of appeal and help drive the visceral appeal,” wrote Milanesi. “However, to increase its market share from Microsoft will have to get on ASP (average selling price) to be able to compete more directly with products based on android, “wrote Milanesi.

AT & T will offer three $ Windows Mobile 7, see next month. Its programming includes surround HTC, Focus Samsung, LG and Quantum. Each and sells about 200 with contract. Portfolio T-Mobile HTC includes HD7 and place of Dell Pro. T-Mobile has not announced pricing, but his phone Windows 7 phones are also expected to sell for about $ 200 with contract.

There are a number of Google’s Android phones that are similarly priced, but there are models that cost much less. AT & T $, for example, offers the Samsung Captivate and 60 with a contract. Apple fans, meanwhile, can buy an iPhone 3G and 99 with a contract AT & T.

Gartner expects the release of Windows Mobile 7 will bump from Microsoft on the market worldwide mobile OS of 4.7% in 2010 to 5.2% in 2011, but said of the company will eventually drop to just 3, 9% in 2014.

For the forecast to improve, Milanesi said Microsoft must come down on price, deployment of an app store richly populated, and to develop phones that are not only functional but also cool. “Products based on Microsoft need to spend to hit consumers at a functional level to hit consumers at a visceral level and reflection,” she said.

“The Windows brand Phone must be regarded as a consumer brand cool rather than something that only a professional user would find interesting,” said Milanesi. Microsoft officially introduced Windows Mobile 7 on Monday. AT & T devices hit the market on November 8, while T-Mobile Windows 7 Phone bids will be in stores shortly thereafter.
