Sledge-o-Matic Gallagher Goes Cardiac In Comedy Club, Comedian Leo Gallagher, best known for his watermelon-smashing act, has been hospitalized after suffering a heart attack prior to a performance in Texas.

The Wrap reports that Gallagher, who uses his last name as his stage name, suffered the heart attack Wednesday, just before a show as a Lewisville, TX club called Hat Tricks.

Craig Marquardo, the comedian’s manager, told The Wrap that Gallagher had met with fans and suddenly felt a “little tired. So he went in and sat down, and then (club employees) went in and checked on him and he wasn’t feeling good, so they called an ambulance.”

“He was feeling the onset of a heart attack…He just didn’t know it at the time,” Marquardo added.

According to TMZ, Marquardo called the heart attack “mild to serious” and that he will stay at the local hospital for the next couple of days to undergo tests.

This is the 65-year-old’s second recent heart attack. Last March, he collapsed on stage at a Minesotta performance, which was caused by a “minor heart attack,” notes TMZ.
