Shifty Shellshock Out Coma, Singer Seth Binzer arrives at the 2nd Annual Sunset Strip Music Festival’s Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at Hollywood’s House of Blues in 2009.  The frontman of the pioneering rap-rock band Crazy Town has woken from a coma in a Los Angeles hospital after a week-long health scare, TMZ reported.

Before regaining consciousness, Seth Brooks Binzer, better known to fans as Shifty Shellshock, had reportedly been unresponsive and on breathing tubes since last Thursday.

Given a past drug history that includes stints on VH1′s “Celebrity Rehab” and “Sober House” and a recent cocaine arrest, however, sources close to the singer told TMZ that they believe his condition was caused by narcotics.

Doctors now expect him to make a full recovery. Crazy Town formed in the mid-’90s and peaked with the 2001 single “Butterfly,” which spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The band, which broke up in 2003 for a number of years, was never able to replicate that success and was plagued by a number of drug issues.
