Shah Rukh Khan, Critics may have panned the film, but Ra.One, Shah Rukh Khan ambitious sci-fi production made in the cost of Rs 150 crore in 3500 and published on the screens of Diwali, a career is clearly on the box office.
At least three tradeanlysts Taran Adarsh ??movie, Komal Singh and Vajir NAHT said the film should be able to make Rs 100 crore for Sunday. “The film released on a weekday and has four calendar days to good home collections,” said NAHT which publishes information on the daily commercial feature film.
Posted on Wednesday, a day of celebration on the occasion of Diwali, instead of the usual Friday, Ra.One footsteps has increased in theaters this weekend.
The film grossed the first day was Rs.18 crores in most multiplexes reporting 60% occupancy, according to NAHT. Rs.18 crore revenue includes collections of dubbed versions of the film in Telugu and Tamil. In the foreign market, the film was Rs.6.5 crore in the first day.
According to Adarsh, Ra.One ‘s collections on Wednesday dipped marginally in the night with people preparing for the celebrations of Diwali. Revenues are expected on Thursday to be higher at Rs.25 crore.
The film has appealed to children and is urging members of the family of the theater crowd, said Gautam Dutta, chief operating officer, PVR Ltd. PVR Cinemas is to see a 90% occupancy by the movie, he said .
