Selena Gomez UnPopular

Selena Gomez UnPopular, Selena Gomez may have one of the hottest Hollywood boyfriends in Justin Bieber and be a teen idol in the eyes of plenty of young girls, but it wasn’t always that way. The singer-actress recently opened up about life before her hit Disney show days, her sold-out concerts (and Bieber!), and things apparently weren’t always so sparkly. But, wow, how the times have changed.
Gomez’s star power has unquestionably ignited over the past few years and she has skyrocketed to fame. However, the 19-year-old hasn’t always won the popularity prize. She recently revealed, “I was never the popular kid at school. I had two friends, but I just sat at the back of the room and got on with my work.”
For someone like Selena Gomez who is such an energetic and bright force on the entertainment scene, it is hard to imagine her as less than sociable and even harder to believe she was not well-liked among her peers. But those junior high and high school years can be tough and ravaged with jealousy, pettiness and more. Indeed, Gomez seems to agree, saying, “School is such an awkward time in your life. I was never confident in school… Nobody picked on me because my cousin was one of the popular gang. She was always very protective of me, so I guess I was very lucky.”
Another area where Gomez wasn’t so lucky in school was with the boys. And her cousin couldn’t help her there! Again, fans might find this nearly unfathomable, given her adorable good looks and her highly sought-after pop sensation of a boyfriend, Justin Bieber. But, as Daily Mail reports, Gomez assured: “I never went out with guys at school. I had a crush on a guy, but I never told him about it.”
Such seems to be the personal experience, though, of many actors, entertainers, models and the like. Many of them seem to have their ugly duckling, unpopular and tease-filled times. But, oh, don’t they all have the sweetest revenge and the last word now!
