Seinfeld To Replace Philbin, When Regis Philbin, 80 announced it would move from its morning show concert, Kelly Ripa knew he needed company. Philbin joined in 2000 after the departure of Kathie Lee Gifford.

Last day Philbin is less than three weeks now and last month, had more to say about the circumstances in which it is leaving a show that offered with several partners for 28 years.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Philbin was suggested in a dispute with ABC, which owns the series on the terms of a new contract to continue at the head of “Live”. It was your choice to try something new. “There is a time when everything must come to an end for some people in the chamber, the elderly, especially true.”

“I’m not calling it quits, you understand,” insisted that the morning crew, which included his Live! Guest Co-Host Shannon Murphy. “I’m moving on. I’m not retiring. I’m not going to leave. I’m moving on.”

Michael Gelman, the producer of the famous talk show in the morning he spoke to TV Guide about the process of replacing the irreplaceable Regis Philbin. The show will be temporarily called “Living with Kelly,” but co-host chair is kept warm in a rotation test out. They resemble what happened to Kathie Lee left the show.

“We will do what I call ‘data’,” says Gelman. “We will have different types are going to test them, check their chemical composition. Let’s see how they work with the format and how the audience reacts. And it’s easier to get feedback from the audience in this day and age, social the media. ”

The first to occupy the bench will be a friend of the show and a personal friend of Philbin, comedian Jerry Seinfeld. No one is treated as being in an audition though.

Gelman said that the U.S. Today, “Jerry is a great friend of ours, and a friend of Kelly, and it does not hurt that he is an icon of entertainment. It is a great way to start the new beginning of our program.” Seinfeld will co-host on November 21-23.

ABC announced the guests for the Seinfeld and Ripa editions of “Live”. Jason Segel as Ripa, Kim Cattrall, Howie Mandel, Jamie Oliver and Miss Piggy.

During the summer, it was reported that “American Idol” host and all around the name of entertainment mogul, Ryan Seacrest, is considering to replace Regis Philbin. At that time, was a better bet than Seacrest was related more strongly to NBC’s Today Show, whose co-host Matt Lauer is out later this year. Read: Seacrest considered for the host of “Today”.

Philbin has been kind enough to mention all the potential replacement machines, but warns it’s not as easy as it seems to carry out all tasks of attention to a talk show.

“You do not know how hard it is to maintain a situation to go on a show like that you do not have writers, who do not have meetings,” he said. “You just go out and do it. I could do that because I’ve done for 50 years, which is the way I like it. But that does not mean it’s right for everyone else.”

Fans of the series will enjoy all kinds of retrospectives and tributes, and Regis is coming November 18th.
