Seattle News, SEATTLE – It only took Kentwan Balmer a meeting with Mike Singletary, a few days of unexcused absences from the San Francisco 49ers and then trade up for a new life in the NFL in Seattle.

The 23-year-old does not share the reason for his break with the team that drafted him in the first round two years ago.

Balmer said that “you are very persistent, man” when pressed for an explanation on Tuesday by The Associated Press.

That was after he passed a physical with the Seahawks and then practiced at defensive tackle and end with the second unit.

A first-round pick of the team disappears and then reappears with division rival seems to need more than one explanation.

Balmer admits that “strikes people as a bit different,” but says it is ready to move forward in Seattle.
