Scotty Mccreery World Series Flub
November 24, 2011 by staff
Scotty Mccreery World Series Flub, Scotty Mccreery, the reigning American Idol champion, made a major lip-synching error at MACy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York today (24, November 2011). The country star was left red-faced after he missed his cue to sing while riding atop a giant float, reports the Huffington Post.
Wearing a warm winter coat and red-scarf, Scotty was introduced to the screaming crowd by an announcer who yelled “And here to sing The Trouble with Girls, it’s the bigger than life reigning American Idol champion, ladies and gentleman Scotty MCCreery”. But that’s when things started to go wrong – with the singer’s voice filling the streets of Manhattan despite the fact he still had the microphone by his side. Looking momentarily stunned, the 18-year-old quickly realised his error and began singing, albeit looking sheepish. The flub once again brings up the debate of live versus lip-synching – both of which present their own problems in front of big crowds. Teen star Justin Bieber performed a special Thanksgiving set for the Today Show on Wednesday (23 November, 2011) and although singing live, he appeared to forget several lines of Santa Claus is Coming To Town and sounded out-of-breath has he paraded around the stage and gave out high-fives.
Unfortunately it’s not the first time MCCreery has been involved in a singing flub – at the World Series he sang the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ while his microphone was turned off, before messing up the notorious lyrics.
