Scotty McCreery Lip Sync Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, American Idol winner Scotty McCreery had an embarrassing lip-syncing gaffe during Thursday’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which was broadcast by NBC in New York. While lip-syncing is hardly a surprise, McCreery clearly had trouble doing it, as the song he was supposed to be singing started before his lips began moving.

TMZ was the first to catch the gaffe. McCreery clearly was not moving his lips as the song’s opening lyric began. NBC’s cameras clearly tried to make an attempt to cut away, but it was much too late.

According to E! News, the song McCreery was supposed to sing was “The Trouble With Girls.” He has also had a hit with “I Love you This Big” and is expected to start a tour with country singer Brad Paisley, according to Pop Crush.

McCreery had to be thankful for the fact that he was not the only former American Idol contestant to have a singing screw up on Thanksgiving. Lauren Alaina probably made the bigger mistake by flubbing the National Anthem at the Packers-Lions football game. According to E! News, she suddenly paused at “What so proudly we hailed, through the twi…” before finishing the anthem.
