Scotland’s Record Temperatures

March 27, 2012 by staff

Scotland’s Record Temperatures, SCOTS were enjoying another day of unseasonably warm weather this afternoon, with temperatures soaring close to 22C in parts of the country.

Temperatures in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire reached 21.7C as of 1.30pm, as the hot spell saw office workers enjoy their lunch outside, and daytrippers descend on popular beach resorts.

It remained unclear whether the temperatures would yet again rewrite the record books after several days of extraordinarily hot conditions for March, but warm sunny spells were recorded all over the nation.

In the Highlands, the Met Office recorded afternoon temperatures of 19.1C in Aviemore, 18.7C in Altnaharra. In Glasgow, the mercury reached 17.2C, while to the east of the country, temperatures of 19C and 17.8C were recorded in Charterhall and Edinburgh Gogarburn respectively.
