School Closings, The National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow advisory for today. Pouring cold air over Lake Ontario will continue to bring snow to the region with an accumulation of day 2 to 4 inches.

At 6 pm, the snowfall in Rome was 5 inches in Utica and it was 2 inches, according to WKTV.

Light to moderate snowfall will persist until the snow bands continue to move through the Oneida County and winds of 10-15 mph will result in certain areas of the visibility decreased and “dangerous driving”, according the NWS.

The lake effect “snow machine” is churning snow this morning changing the timing of the central zone schools.Hamilton schools, Madison Central Schools
