SBPA Cancellation, Civil servants have welcomed the improved version of the current Malaysian Remuneration Scheme (SSM) and the cancellation of the Public Service New Remuneration Scheme (SBPA).

Bentong Municipal Council employee A. Kalaichalvi, 32, said the salary revision showed the government’s concern on the welfare of civil servants, especially the lower income group.

“I am confident that this announcement will raise our morale to continue to work hard to enhance the performance of the civil service,” he told reporters at the gathering of civil servants here yesterday.

At the gathering, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced salary adjustments of 13 per cent for employees in the management and professional group from grade 1 to 54, nine per cent for the Jusa A, B and C grades, eight per cent for the staff grades 2 and 3, and seven per cent for staff grade one and the Chief Secretary to the Government.
