Sasha Doran | USsPost.com:The Wayzata Trojans traveled to Armstong last night on the other side of Plymouth to take on the Falcons.  The Trojans scored easyily and often, with great performances from Sasha Doran at quarterback, Adam Gooley at wide receiver, and a solid game by the defense.

1st Quarter

Armstrong started at their own 24 yard line.  Tobi Okuyemi tackled a Falcon runner to make it 2nd and long. A screen pass to Armstrong’s Louis was stopped by Grant Olson at the line of scrimmage to bring up 4th down.

Wayzata started at their own 41 yard line, with Sasha Doran under center.  Chris Kroeten rushed up the left side for 3 yards to make it 2nd and 7.  Doran was sacked by a Falcon for a loss of 6 yards to make it 3rd and 13.  Aaron Roth took a Doran screen pass for a big gain and a 1st down.  Roth carried to his left for a gain of 2 to make it 2nd and 8.  A wide reciver screen pass from Doran to AJ Troup gained another Trojan 1st down.  Chris Lindsey carried to his right for 4 yards.  Chris Kroeten scampered up the middle for a gain of 3 to make it 3rd and 3.  Kroeten was stopped on another rush attempt by the Falcon defensive line to make it 4th down.  Roth was stopped on a dive to left short of the 1st down to turn the ball over on downs.

Armstrong started their drive at their own 15.  Prince Kanu picked up 1 yard and was stopped by  Grant Olson to make it 3rd and 9.  A Ruhland pass in the flat was intercepted by Jack Vettle and returned to givethe Trojans the ball at the Falcon 21.

A streaking AJ Troup zipped up the left sideline to catch a Doran pass for the touchdown.  Stranghoener added the extra point to make it 7-0 with 2:54 remaining in the 1st quarter.

The Falcons Quarterback 16 lost two yards on the keeper and was tackled by Okuyemi.  16 rushed for another loss and was swarmed by the Trojan defensive line to make it 3rd and 13.  A pass attempt was broken up by Jack Vettel to make it 4th down.

After the punt, the Trojans took over on their own 49 yard line, and Doran flipped it to Jack Egan for a pass completion and a couple of yards to make it 2nd and 8.  The same play to other side to Egan gained 5 yards to make it 3rd and 3. Kroeten was stopped by a sea of red Falcon jerseys as time expired on the 1st Quarter.

2nd Quarter

After Wayzata’s punt, the Falcons took over at their own 18 yard line.  Kanu rushed for four yards and was stopped by Grant Olson to make it 2nd and 6.  Kanu rushedthe ball to his right and was stopped for a loss of 1 by Jack Egan to make it 3rd and 7. 16 on the quarterback keeper was met by AJ Tarpley to make it 4th down.

Daryl Brown took the Falcon punt and returned it 20 yards to the Armstrong 34 yard line.  AJ Troup caught a Doran pass for 32 yards and was forced out of bounds by the Falcons.  A delay of game pushed them Trojans back to theArmstrong 7 yard line.  Roth carried up the middle for no gain. Chris Lindsey took a Doran hand-off around the right hand side and spun his way into the end zone to score the Trojan touch down. Stranghoener added the extra point to make it 14-0 with 8:52 remaining in the game.

The Falcons started their next drive at their own 25 yard line.  Grant Olson blitzed up the middle to sack the Falcon QB #5 for a loss of 4 to make it 2nd and 14.  A long pass up the right from 5 to a Falcon receiver fell incomplete with coverage by Sean Hamlin to make it 3rd and 14. A screen pass byArmstrong was broken up by Max Baker to make it 4th and 11.

Doran and company started at the Falcon 46 yard line.  Kroeten carried for a gain of 1 to make it 2nd and 9.  Egan on an end around gained 3 yards to make it 3rd and 6.  Doran threw a slant to Adam Gooley who broke 2 tackles to score a 42 yard touch down.  Stranghoeners PAT was blocked to make it 20-0 with 5:46 left in the 2nd quarter.

The Falcons started at their own 36 yard line, and a Falcon pass to to number 3 gained a bunch of yards to advance to their own 48 yard line. An end around by a Falcon receiver gained 8 yards to make it 2nd and 4.  Falcons QB 5 kept it for a gain of 1 to make it 3rd and 3 at the Trojan 41.  A pass to Louis was well defended by Sean Hamlinto bring up 4th down.

Wayzata started another drive at their own 29 yard line with under 3 minutes in the half. A Kreoten rush up the middle gained 5 yards to make it 2nd and 5. A Roth carry gained a 1st down at the Trojan 37 yard line.  Another rush up the middle made it 2nd and 8.  A screen pass to Kroeten was snuffed out by the Falcons after a gain of 1.  Wayzata punted it away.

The Falcons Kanu rushed for a a couple.  A #5 pass fell harmlessly to the turf as time expired on the first half.

3rd Quarter

Wayzata started at their own 20 yard line, with Kroeten rushing to his left for 6 yards to make it 2nd and 4.  Kroeten scrambled to his left for a gain of 3 to make it 3rd and 1.  A pass from Doran to Troup gained 20 yards on the left side of the field to make it 1st down.  Roth carried up his right side to make it 2nd and 8.  An offsides penalty against the Falcons made it 2nd and 3.  Doran threw a bullet that missed AJ Tarpley to make it 3rd and 3.  A Kroeten rush gained a lot of yardage to make it 1st and 10 in the red zone. A Troup reception was was good to make it 1st and goal at the 3 yard line. Chris Lindsey was stopped for a one yard loss to make it 2nd and 3 at the 3. A Roth carry upthe middle gained 2 yards to make it 3rd and goal at the 1 yard line. Doran’s play action pass to Grant Olsen was good for a 1 yard touchdown. Stranghoener added the extra point to make it 27-0.

Armstrong’s #12 returned the kick to Wayzata’s 37 yard line.  A false start and a sack by Okuyemi made it 2nd and 18 for the Falcons.  #5’s pass to a streaking Falcon receiver was well defended by Jack Vettel.  A pass to Louis was stopped by David Boegel to make it 4th and 14 at Wayzata’s 41 yard line.

Doran’s pass to Gooley was good for a huge gain to bring the Trojans into Falcon territory and the 31 yard line. Another huge pass from Doran to Gooley for 31 yards scored another TD. Stranghoener’s PAT made it 34-0 in favor of Wayzata.

The Falcons rushed for 4 yards after a stop by a swarming Trojan defense. A quick pass for several yards and a 1st down was stopped by Sean Hamlin.  A huge gain by the Falcons brought them into the Trojan territory at the Wayzata 36 yard line.  A fumble was recovered to by Justin Wheaton to make it 2nd and 16 at the Trojan 42 yard line. Tarpley stopped a Falcon receiver after a gain of 4.  Jack Egan sacked #5 for a loss of 5.  The Falcons puntedthe ball away.

4th Quarter

Wayzata took over at their own 23 yard line. Drew Donlan started under center and was tackled immediately.  Another Donlan snap and a tackle for a loss.  Donlan threw a long pass that fell imcompleteto bring up 4th down.

The Falcons took over at the Wayzata 36 yard line. A host of Trojans tackled Kanu for a loss .  Cody Lewis stopped a Falcon receiver for no gainto bring up 4th down.  Pressure by Max Baker forced #5 to throw the ball out of bounds and turn it over on downs.

Wayzata’s Nick Martin came in at quarterback and handed off to Blake Weir for a gain of 2.  Aaron Belfrey was stopped by the Falcons for a small loss.  Onken pass to Jamie Macgregor was just shy of the 1st down.  Martin rushed for a gain of 8 yards and a Trojan 1st down. Reese Young rushed upthe middle to gain 6 yards to make it 2nd and 4 at the Falcon 40.  A Martin pass to Gibbs fell incomplete to make it 3rd and 4.  A rush by Mitch Rieke was stopped for no gain.  A pass by Martin fell incomplete to turnthe ball over on downs.

Armstrong’s pass for a gain of 50 yards was nullified by a holding call.  #16 screen pass to a wide receiver fell short.  #16 pass fell incomplete. #16’s pass was intercepted by Mitch Rieke and returned to the Falcon 10 yard line.  A personal foul brought the ball back to the 38 yard line.

Logan Kennedy stepped in at quarter back and rushed for no gain.  Kennedy handed off to Erick Pineda for a gain of 1 to make it 3rd and 9 at the Falcon 37.  Another rush by Mitch Rieke gained another yard, and brought up 4th down. A rush by Max Baker gained 3 yards, but the Trojans turned the ball over on downs.

Matt Bosn defended a Falcon pass and forced the Armstrong receiver out of bounds. Duncan Sallstrom forced an incompletion.  Drew Giangrossi broke up a long Falcon pass attempt. Giangrosssi stopped a Falcon reciver after a short gain. A Falcon pass completion was defended by Matt Bosn. A Falcon pass was well defended by Blake Weir. Matt Bosn on the coverage as the Falcons tried a long pass. Marty Voves stopped a touch down with a tackle of an Armstrong receiver. Ben Johnson provided nice coverage to keep the Falcons out of the end zone. Prince Kanu scored on a 2 yard rush. The PAT was good to make it 34-7 in favor of Wayzata.

The Falcons pass to #20 lost a couple of yards.  A rush by Max Baker was good for a 1 yard gain.The Trojans punted it away.

Armstrong’s#7 caught a screen pass and scored a TD. The PAT was good.
