Sarah’s 2011 Movie

Sarah's 2011 MovieSarah’s 2011 Movie, Sarah Key is a very emotional adaptation of the best-selling novel by Tatiana de Rosnay. The film has the tough task of covering four generations, and is four hours. The film succeeds very well.

This is undoubtedly the most moving film you will see all year. Kristin Scott Thomas plays an American journalist living with her French husband and daughter. She talks about her editor to let her do a report on French Jews were arrested in the Second World War in an area that is currently living. She has just come across a story incredibly disturbing.

Some may find it a bit artificial and not buying in short matches. I was frozen by the skeletons are found in various closets and moved by the violence (and goodness), some characters during the war.

Sarah is played by a child actor named Melusina and is perfectly cast Mayance. She is separated from her family and decided to get home to her apartment to her younger brother he locked cabinet, it was quick thinking on her part, the family was being held and felt that this would be the safest place for him.

Director Gilles Paquet-Brenner also co-wrote the screenplay and De Rosnay and expressed satisfaction with the film version.

The parallel stories – today with the journalist during the war with Sarah – intertwine very well in an understated way to work. It was a bit spotty at times and there were some scenes that did not work. One involved walking Aidan Quinn and Thomas is explaining something to him and other young staff members had in the journal discuss how it has handled the situation if it was around 1942.

It was refreshing to see a movie with a married couple to have some problems in a way that seemed realistic. It sounded like adults while discussing the things that bothered them. When the husband felt his wife was obsessed with the stories he was involved in, there was no screaming or breaking glass. And when her workaholic husband annoys the woman, she kindly asked to put his cell phone outside the restaurant. When you take in the car during an argument in tears, threatening to take a taxi.

A story that came out recently was a list of scientists as the champion saddest movie of all time. The study involved thousands of people who were connected to machines and tears and brain waves were monitored. Watching a movie about children during the Holocaust is always sad, but really I cannot remember the happy and sad in a movie in a while. You’ll be hearing about this when Oscar nominations are announced.
