Samuel L Jackson Obama, Hollywood African American film star Samuel L. Jackson openly admits to voting for President Barack Obama, “because he’s black,” in the 2008 presidential election.
The “Pulp Fiction” star revealed his racially motivated reason for voting for the president in an interview with Ebony Magazine released Monday.

“”I voted for Barack because he was black. ‘Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people – because they look like them,” said Mr. Jackson in the interview.

The film star’s comments come during an election year in which the president is facing a tough Republican field of all white candidates, after the exit of pizza magnet Herman Cain.

His comments that Mr. Obama “looks” like him and that’s the reason he voted for him is certainly true.

Mr. Jackson never mentioned in the interview though that Mr. Obama is actually half white, as he was born to a white American Kansas native mother, and a African American black father originally from Kenya.

Mr. Jackson attended a Los Angeles fundraiser for Mr. Obama in early February.

Mr. Obama became the first African American president in 2008, and his election campaign featured racially charged moments where his chief competitor, Hilary Rodham Clinton called into question his relationship with radical black preacher Jeremiah Wright.

However, the president garnered 43 percent of white voters in 2008.
