Rock And Roll Marathon San Antonio
November 14, 2010 by USA Post
Rock And Roll Marathon San Antonio, The New York Marathon last week was a massive turnout of riders. Central Texas was well represented with a large number of runners from Austin taking part in the race through the city. I could not find a rider from San Marcos who finished the race. Mike Scholz was classified as finishing 5:16:04 for 26.2 miles.
Being part of a crowd of riders and all the ceremonies that are before and after the race is experience.
This week, the Rock N Roll Marathon and Half Marathon are held in San Antonio and there will be lots of runners from San Marcos, taking part in this race. Some of the participants ran the Chosen: Marathon for the adoption a few weeks ago in Gruene and go for another term this week.
I guess when you’re ready to run a marathon and all the training he had and you could enjoy all the running that led to the long running distances. The best part is that it’s good report so that the day between races may be resting and training a party party.
The San Marcos Runners Club met last week and discussed some of the applications and information on the direction of travel.
David Alexander has over many small details that some race organizers seem to forget, but unless they are considered the race can quickly become a mess for the riders. The information was for people in the club who will race management directors themselves and some of the items they need to convey to the organizers who want to stop raising money for their group.
The point of little details necessary because many times the race director is working with volunteers or non-execution of persons who are not familiar with the management of a large project and whether these small details can be covered before running things work much better on race day. The riders know the difference between a good race and a race organized disorganized and just being a runner, it is easier to understand why these little details are needed.
San Marcos puts on a number of races throughout the year from a number of 5K distances, a couple of races of 10 km and a distance of half marathon for runners region.
At the meeting of a debating club has been raised by some of the riders on adding some other distances that are not yet present.
One that was mentioned was the one-mile race similar to the Congress Avenue Mile in Austin that is run each year. There are a number of local runners who are interested to see if it is sometimes possible on the road, so to speak. Plans are under review for possible course use, and sponsors for such enforcement.
Reference to others is that of a full marathon here in San Marcos. Find a 26.2 mile route and the logistics of putting on such a performance is really going to take some major planning, but many of the riders seemed to think it might be a possibility.
All information that David Alexander spoke at the meeting for anyone who decides to pursue such a course would have done better to take many notes during the meeting. It will be followed by local runners with great interest to see if such a race may be held one day in the future.
