Rita ChretienRita Chretien, It was a bitter day of the mother of Penticton, BC woman who survived seven weeks locked inside a van in the remote mountains of Nevada.

Rita Chretien, 57, is spending Mother’s Day with her family in a hospital in Idaho, where he is recovering from seven weeks, with little food and water. Hospital officials say it is “very optimistic” and doing well.

Rita Chretien was able to eat a small meal today enjoy a Mother’s Day with her family that seemed impossible until she was found alive on Friday.

The hospital reports that it is “where is supposed to be” in reference to your health.

The food, though small, is an important step for the 56-year-old who has had only small amounts of water and trail mix in recent weeks.

Searchers are using the location of the couples are glued as a starting point in the search for her husband.
