Ringo Starr: ABC NEWS — It’s been a long and winding road of the Beatles Ringo Starr, who turns 70 today. And Starr celebrates birthday in the way any good musician you want, with a concert at Radio City Music Hall, along with his All Star Band.
But before that mark his milestone birthday, Starr talks to Diane Sawyer of ABC for a conversation about his remarkable life, his music, and how the world has changed since he and three other boys from Liverpool burst onto the world stage 1964.
The legendary Beatles drummer, is now a grandfather, has barely declined in recent years, partly, he says, thanks to a healthy life.
“Do not take any drugs, I do not drink alcohol, I do not throw anything in my veins, life is good,” Starr said, vowing that their services are just too much to the development and broccoli.
He has a lifetime of memories crazy to look again, however, Starr and points to some of the early days will always have a special place.
“Arriving in New York remains one of the most incredible moments of my life. And there was a plan,” Starr says to Sawyer, the famous “Ed Sullivan Show” appearance in 1964. “I do not know, he does not know us, we just reserve, and when we got here was the number one and crazy, but it was just great.”
However, Starr says there’s no time like the present, and he has no desire to return to his youth rock star. However, if I had to choose the current pop icon would be more interested in emulation, your choice may surprise you.
For Justin Beiber “would be quite easy, because it has the Beatles haircut,” says Starr, before admitting: “I’ll probably be Lady Gaga. I mean, I like to wear.”
So what is received Beatle who has it all on this momentous anniversary?
“Peace and love,” Starr tells Sawyer. “All I ask, at noon, wherever you are in the United States at noon, just go” peace and love ‘and that’s all I want for a gift. ”
So be sure to give Starr what he wants this year, but before doing so, we hope to honor the occasion to see a very entertaining conversation.
