Richard Holbrooke Wife, Yesterday the death of Richard Holbrooke has shone a spotlight on his unexpected widow, Kati Marton, an accomplished author and advocate for women who had been married to a diplomat of 15 years. Her husband was by all accounts an extraordinary man who helped negotiate to end the war in Bosnia, and today he is mourned across the world after his rupture of the aorta and eventually killed. His wife is equally impressive. Here are five things about Kati Marton, Holbrooke widow and mother of two children. She has two children of her late second husband, Peter Jennings. She was born in Hungary and was educated in the United States and Paris. Her grandparents were killed at Auschwitz. She is a former employee of ABC News and NPR, who chaired the International Women’s Health Coalition. In the book “Enemies of the people”, she studied how parents, journalists and Ilona Endre Marton, survived the Second World War and why they were imprisoned by the Soviets.
