Replica AK-47 BB Guns In Canada Recalled, The RCMP has issued a formal recall of hundreds of replica firearms BB AK-47 imported from China that researchers fear could be easily reconfigured into lethal weapons banned.

The notice of withdrawal comes after a national investigation by the RCMP to locate hundreds of replica weapons that were allowed into the country by officials of the Canada Border Services Agency.

A CBC News investigation determined the CBSA did not inspect the shipping boxes containing the replicas, and no weapons flag as “prohibited” after relying solely on the import declaration forms submitted by the arms dealer based in Toronto Sylva North that the weapons were just toys.

The bulletin asks companies and owners of BB gun to deliver or destroy their AK-47 replicas because they are made of prohibited firearms frames and receivers authentic Chinese Type-56 version of the AK-47 assault rifle semi-automatic .

The RCMP raids and attacks last week in a series of gun stores in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec. Researchers believe that toys can be turned into weapons by simply changing the gun barrel and bolt.

North Sylva said he was surprised and puzzled to learn that a compressed air gun CBSA approved for importation into Canada is being taken as a potential weapon prohibited.
