Remains Of Pete The Moose Found?
October 22, 2011 by staff
Pete the Moose, who became a cause celebre in the regulation of wildlife in the state, died in September during the immobilization for hoof trimming. Until a week ago, state officials insisted he was alive. The owner of the game park where he lived Pete was responsible for concealing the death of Pete.
Environmental officials have been offering different responses where the remains were Pete.
Commissioner of Fisheries and Wildlife, Patrick Berry said Thursday that the park owner is still showing a moose call. Berry says he can not guarantee that it was Pete, but the animals’ hooves had been cut.
Pete’s life in captivity helped the state to pass new laws for wildlife.
