Reliant Energy, The Houston Technology Center (HTC) and Reliant Energy have entered into a strategic partnership to extend the mission of HTC accelerate the growth of emerging technology companies in the Houston area. As a sponsor of the Houston Center for Technology, Reliant Energy will provide all the electricity for the campus HTC building two of 410 Pierce Street in downtown Houston. In addition, Reliant Energy will provide critical support to HTC acceleration energy program that provides strategic guidance and tactical management to Houston area emerging technology entrepreneurs of energy.

“We are delighted to again partner with Reliant Energy, a hometown help us make Houston a center for technology and entrepreneurs,” said Walter Ulrich, President & CEO of Houston Technology Center. “We know we can count on Reliant to support our initiatives and the innovative energy solutions.”

“Giving emerging technology companies with the resources they need to grow and create jobs in the Houston area is a huge benefit to our community,” said Tom Gros, vice president of sales and marketing, Reliant Energy. “HTC is an incredible asset to the Houston economy and we are pleased to be part of their efforts.”

In addition to assisting the efforts of HTC to support emerging carriers of energy in Houston, executives of Reliant and its parent company NRG Energy Center provide expertise in technology in Houston. John Ragan, NRG Energy regional president for Texas is a member of the Board and HTC Depot is a member of the advisory board of the center.
