Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis says Redmond O’Neal was arrested around 8:30 am Tuesday after an officer saw him not stop for a red light. Police say the search of his car-uncovered drugs.
O’Neal, who is on probation on a previous drug case, was jailed without bail.
His lawyer, Richard Paint, declined comment.
The 26-year-old has a history of substance abuse problems. He completed a drug diversion program last year, but still on probation for carrying drugs to a prison in Los Angeles County in 2009.
