Ravi Inder Singh, New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Monday raided the office and residence of 1994 batch of West Bengal official box-NIC Ravi Inder Singh, currently posted in the Ministry of Interior of the Union (MHA), the alleged leak of sensitive information.
Special Police (Special Cell) PN Aggarwal denied reports that Singh had been arrested. Police sources said he had been detained for questioning. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption.
Singh is posted as Director of Homeland Security (IS) division and was allegedly passing information to a telecommunications company. His office, we learn, was involved in granting security clearance to companies. He was under surveillance for over a month.
Union Home Secretary, GK Pillai, said the Delhi Police, acting on a tip, raided the office of the Northern Bloc of Singh. “The raid was conducted following complaints that the official was leaking sensitive information to some companies,” said Pillai. Singh denied that he was involved in the acquisition of arms and material to the central police organizations. He also refused to say that Singh was the transmission of information, although it is likely that the raids at the offices of the company.
