Raven, SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota, AP – Technology manufacturer Raven Industries Inc. says its second-quarter net profit rose 35 percent on strong demand for its products.

The manufacturer based in Sioux Falls makes products used in energy, agriculture and military surveillance industries.

The company reported revenue of 8.4 million, or 46 cents per share, compared with 6.2 million, or 34 cents per share, during the same period last year.

Net sales rose 29 percent to 73.2 million for the quarter ended July 31. This compared to 56.6 million during the same period last year.
