Rare Cyclops Shark

Rare Cyclops SharkRare Cyclops Shark, A fisherman in the Gulf of California has made history of science for the capture of a shark with an albino fetal eye.

Live Science reports that the shark was cut Cyclops from the belly of a pregnant dusky shark earlier this summer.

Shark researchers have examined the creature preserved and found that his eye is made of optical functional tissue.

News of the one-eyed shark issued early this summer after Sportfishing Pisces Fleet, owned by Grupo Cabo Pisces, published photos of strange-looking animal in his blog.

Live Science reports that the child probably would not have survived birth outside the womb.

The fisherman who caught the shark Cyclops intends to hold the remains preserved.
