Firefighter Shannon Stone, Brownwood, Texas, died Thursday after he lost his balance while reaching to catch a ball in his six-year-old son Cooper stone, which was released into the stands for the left fielder Rangers Josh Hamilton. The tragedy occurred during the second inning at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
The funeral will be held at First United Methodist Church in Brownwood on Monday, and a visit of the stone will take place on Sunday in a funeral Brownwood, according to the Morning News.
Stone, 39, fell about 20 feet behind a wall supporting the left marker. Doctors Rangers treated the patient before being taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. He succumbed to his injuries less than an hour after his fall.
The City of Brownwood, 130 miles southwest of Fort Worth, is flying its flag at half-mast for the funeral on Monday out of respect for Shannon and her family, Brownwood News reported.
