Randy Moss Retirement

August 1, 2011 by staff

Randy Moss RetirementRandy Moss Retirement, Randy Moss has retired from the NFL, professional sports robbing one of its most spectacular athletes. I use the word “athlete” for a reason. In a video of NFL Network since early this summer, Brian Billick, offensive coordinator of Moss in his early days with the Vikings, led to this declaration.

“Every field or court is a step forward, any game you want to play has been the best athlete.” This seems the perfect time to remember his basketball career. Lights and more below the jump.

Moss was in the same school team that former Sacramento Kings point guard Jason Williams, a fact commemorated by the old Nike ad shown above. The two played for the now-defunct DuPont High in West Virginia. Moss in football, basketball, baseball and track, which is surprising because the four sports for three seasons.

Moss also played three games in the Summer League NBA in 2000 and had one season with the Pennsylvania Valley Dogs of the United States Basketball League in 2001. I probably could have been an NBA player if he really wanted to be. That would have been fun to watch. Instead, we have to live with little blurry video, no sound of Moss and Williams in high school. Enjoy.
