Rajinikanth, Doctors in Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai to thousands of ardent fans and celebrities from Bollywood, the world offering their prayers for the speedy recovery of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, 61. Rajini, who was last seen in the blockbuster 2010 Endhiran / Robot, fell ill on 1 May 3, with recurrent respiratory infections and gastro-intestinal problems. On Thursday, his wife Latha said that the star is on the road to recovery, however, for the friends of the actor of Bollywood, the time is fraught with tension and prayer. “All lovers of Rajnikanth … has been troubling to learn of his hospitalization. I talked to him and been in contact with the woman. Rajinikanth is improving little by little; I was informed today by sms. We hope and pray that recover as soon as possible (sic) “, actor Amitabh Bachchan tweeted. “I’m a big fan of Rajini sir and I am praying for him to get better. It is a phenomenon and is so humble. No wonder half the world is praying for him,” says director Farah Khan. “With the hope he recovers soon. Rajini sir is the embodiment of a legend,” says celebrity photographer Atul Kasbekar.
It is only in the south of India that fans have been organizing special bids – to his followers in New Delhi, too, are difficult in prayer. “I’ve been keeping a tab on every update that comes from the hospital in Chennai. I also offered prayers for his recovery at the local temple. In the spirit of so many people, I’m sure he’ll be fine,” says 26-year-old, Karthik Jairam graphic artist. “Since the news of his ill health was broken, everyone in my family has offered Prasad for his recovery in the temple of our town,” says the student of 23 years of age, Divya Iyer.
Keeping the faith in Rajini Earlier this week, in the city of Hosur, Tamil Nadu, over 50 supporters gathered Rajinikanth and ate rice soil as part of ritual Mann Soru. Kalikamba held in the temple, the sentence was carried out to ensure the speedy recovery of the actor. On Thursday, several clubs gathered to pray in the temple Ganpati Mahim in Mumbai.
