REM announced last month that the band has decided to call it a day after 31 years together.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Radiohead singer Thom Yorke said he was not surprised by the news.
”I think it was kind of going one step at a time. I just wanted to see that Michael was OK”
Talking about how the pair became friends when they supported Radiohead on tour REM 1995 ‘Monster’, Yorke said:
”What I liked seeing REM – and this is something our band took away – was what allowed the sht to happen without trying to add to it, but only f * ckingg are there, waiting for the fire to start “he said.
“Sometimes it would be in mid-September, and is not yet releasing even going crazy But they’re staying with him no one -. Explosion and beyond.”
REM released 15 albums including the classic “Automatic For The People ‘.
