Quora, There are many social sites in this area, including Reddit, Digg, Slashdot, Metafilter and 4Chan. Each has its own niche. However, Reddit has a wider appeal and more, which should enable it to continue to expand its audience.

Social Quora is another site that attracts much attention today, especially users of Twitter. It is a question and answer site aims to encourage more and better answers than the current market leader Yahoo Answers, or more specialized Stack Exchange (based on Stack Overflow).

Quora was founded in 2009, opened a private beta in January 2010 and launched in June He now something short of a half-million users, but the main attraction is the quality of response to questions from users on the site. Fast Company Summary Monday:

Co-founder Dustin Moskovitz Facebook offers his opinion about the movie The Social Network. Google Images, Product Manager Nate Smith explains how color image search works. Foursquare Head of business development talks about what it means to work for the founder Dennis Crowley. Twitter Pierre Legrain says the cost-per-follow the principle Promoted accounts. And AOL co-founder Steve Case answers how much it cost to mail each of these CDs in the 1990s.

At Christmas, blogger Robert Scoble has done a good deal for the site by asking: Is Quora the greatest innovation of blogs in 10 years. This prompted me to register, and may have created a mini-boom.

The question for both Reddit and Quora is whether they can retain their value after they begin to attract the spammers, trolls and ignoranti great. Reddit has a system up and down vote and smart enough to discourage users or bury the kind of fanaticism that is ranting Digg, YouTube and other sites to other sites of human stupidity. Quora also allows the user responses vote up and down, and the flag that ill not helpful. It also has a “follower” system, like twitter; you can block people after they left a few comments of poor quality. That will be enough remains to be seen.
