Lanisha Cole states in a civil lawsuit, filed Wednesday, which show producers – Michael G. Richards and Adam Sandler – continually humiliated and berated her in front of their peers.
The production company, Fremantle Media North America, is also named in the lawsuit.
Cole, who began working on the show in 2003, says the alleged abuse began in December 2009. It was then, the suit states, Richards suddenly stopped talking to Cole for no reason and started for another model that was involved in a relationship.
According to court papers, Richards implemented new policies to limit their work to model the program and is also involved in abusive behavior.
In September 2010, Cole says Sandler broke out in her dressing room without knocking and reprimanded in front of their peers while he was wearing only a “very pure bikini thong underwear down,” said Cole’s lawyer, Solomon Gresen, Los Angeles Times.
“This case is high-level men in the power of the entertainment industry and the exploitation of control over women through intimidation and harassment of female talent,” said Gresen. “Mrs. Cole did nothing to provoke Richards and Sandler. Once the harassment began, she was powerless to stop it.”
Cole says in the lawsuit that he complained to management and continued being treated unfairly.
