Price Chopper Cakes May Contain Plastic Fragments, Chopper Supermarkets is voluntarily recalling Central Market Classics Tres Leches cakes in 5-inch and 8-inch sizes because they may contain plastic fragments.

Rich Foods, the manufacturer of the cake layers contained in the product, notified Price Chopper that they may contain plastic fragments, according to a press release.

The 5-inch cakes have UPC code 41735-26013, and the 8 inch cakes bear UPC 41735-25128.

There are Price Chopper Supermarkets in Keene, Lebanon, Lincoln and West Lebanon. The company is based in Schenectady, N.Y.

The specialty cakes have been available in stores since July 10, 2011, and no plastic fragments or illnesses have been reported, Price Chopper said in a press release.

Price Chopper said it will directly notify customers who purchased the product using its store loyalty card.
