Presidential Candidate Cain

Presidential Candidate Cain, Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain would like to step into the breach and serve as Defense secretary if he were tapped for a Cabinet position after the 2012 election.
Cain surprised ABC’s Barbara Walters with that aspiration as she interviewed him during her special Wednesday night because he made her list of her “10 Most Fascinating People of 2011.”
Walters, who eventually revealed her top pick as Apple founder Steve Jobs at the end of her show, expressed surprise that Cain wouldn’t want the Treasury spot, by virtue of the “9-9-9” economic plan he advocated before dropping out of the race.
Cain explained: “Because if I could influence rebuilding our military as it should be, that would be a task I would consider undertaking.”
Not satisfied with that answer, Walters insisted to Cain that he knows very little about the geopolitical landscape, even citing this lack of knowledge as the impetus behind his campaign failure.
“I have been doing my homework ever since that difficulty,” Cain replied.
Cain closed the interview by singing his version of “Amazing Grace.”
Others who made Walters’ most fascinating list for the year:
Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson of “Modern Family”
Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees
