PIERRE THOMAS, (CP) – The New Orleans Saints turned 46-year-old John Carney home game Sunday against the Carolina Panthers and scratched running back Pierre Thomas and safety Roman Harper to the lineup.

Carney was signed with the Saints on Tuesday, two days after Garrett Hartley missed an overtime goal from 29 yards on the ground for a loss in Atlanta. Hartley remains on the list, but was withdrawn against Carolina.

Ladell Betts was scheduled to leave for Thomas, who injured his left ankle in the loss last week. Pierson Prioleau was replacing Harper, who strained his right hamstring last week.

DeShawn Wynn, signed by the practice squad Saturday, was a reserve running back. Cornerback Leigh Torrence was thrown.

The Panthers are off to fight against Jeff Otaha.
