Phoebe Snow DiesPhoebe Snow Dies, Singer Phoebe Snow, best known for her 1975 hit “Poetry of man” died Tuesday at a hospital in Edison.

Snow died of complications from a stroke suffered last year and had been in coma since January 2010, according to her manager.

Snow released her debut album in 1974 and earned a Grammy nomination for best new artist. Despite continued releasing albums throughout the years, she chose to put her family first after her daughter was born with severe brain damage. Snow on the 25 th anniversary Woodstock festival in 1994.

Born Phoebe Ann Laub, grew up in Teaneck.

Snow is survived by her sister, Julia Laub, and an uncle, Bob Laub.
