Peterbilt, The Metro Transit Authority hopes to settle a sale in early August for the purchase of the property of the Peterbilt truck plant in Madison.
In June, the MTA board adopted the negotiations on the purchase of the closed plant site for use as its administrative headquarters and the maintenance department.
“I see no problems and everything is moving forward,”said MTA CEO Paul Ballard.
The property is located and 21 million, but officials have been negotiating than down.
Ballard has been estimated above and MTA would purchase 9.4 million of grants and funds available.
MTA wants to use a partner ownership and involvement in the purchase. Metro Police want to add a precinct in Madison and has had representatives visit the place where Myatt Peterbilt unit.
The property is about 65 acres.
Peterbilt ceased operations in late 2009 after sales slowed, but essentially the plant had been closed since mid-2008 due to a labor dispute.
