Peta Super Meat Boy

November 15, 2011 by staff

Peta Super Meat Boy, You may remember that PETA created Super Tofu Boy, a pointless response to Super Meat Boy — a game that wasn’t encouraging a single person to eat more or less meat. Now, I’m embarrassed to give further coverage to Mario Kills Tanooki — a response, I’m assuming, to Super Mario 3D Land. Apparently by allowing players to use a Tanooki suit, Mario is sending the message that it’s okay to wear fur.

According to PETA…

Tanooki may be just a “suit” in Mario games, but in real life, tanuki are raccoon dogs who are skinned alive for their fur. By wearing Tanooki, Mario is sending the message that it’s OK to wear fur. Play Super Tanooki Skin 2D and help Tanooki reclaim his fur!

In no shape or form do I condone wearing fur, but I think PETA has to make a little bit more sense when choosing what to skewer. Mario? Seriously? Mario wearing a Tanooki suit encourages the message that it’s okay to wear fur? What world are these people living in!

Anyway, this game focuses around the Tanooki getting his fur back from Mario, and is a one-button, derivative flash game. I can’t help but find the whole thing a little silly.
