PETA Luck Horse Deaths, PETA has went on the offensive against HBO series Luck after several horses died on the shows set. According to the animal rights group the shows producers allowed for “sloppy oversight” which led to the horses’ death.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals went after HBO and Luck on Tuesday after a third horse died on the set of the show. A rep tells TMZ:

“All the evidence we have gathered points to sloppy oversight, the use of unfit, injured horses, and disregard for the treatment of race horses.”

Following the death of the first two horses PETA sent a letter to L.A. District Attorney Steve Cooley asking that his department investigate the deaths, although no immediate action was taken at that time.

HBO in the meantime has fired back at PETA, following the death of horse No. 3 series producers revealed:

“An American Humane Association Certified Safety Representative was on the premises when the accident occurred, and as always, all safety precautions were in place.”
