Patrick Crayton, In an uncapped year that many of you are wondering why the Cowboys would dump a Patrick Crayton when he still can play and be a help, at least one insurance policy if something happened to the three wide outs – Miles Austin, Roy Williams and Dez Bryant.
In the last week the Cowboys have cut Pat Watkins (and 1.176 million), trade Crayton (and 2 million euros) and Pat McQuistan (and 1.176 million) and go with the players expect much less in Danny McCray (and 320,000) Kevin Ogletree ($ 395,000) and Phil Costa ($ 320,000).
“I think he is younger than the money,” executive vice president Stephen Jones. “I think the money factor, but you have to start clearing the way for the Akwasis, McCann, McCrays and Hamlins. It is time for his chance. These guys have been around and done a good job … unfortunately is nature of business. ”
Crayton is 31. Watkins turns 28 in December. McQuistan is 27.
“If today is measured at this point in time, perhaps you would normally go with the veteran,” said Jones, “but if you keep doing that over and over and over you become an old team.”
