Pat Mcafee, (AFP)-Indiana – The Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee suspended for one game on Wednesday, hours after he was arrested for public drunkenness.

Police said 23-year-old took a pre-dawn swim in a canal in the city. Asked to explain why the agents it was found soaked in the trendy Broad Ripple, McAfee told them, ‘I’m drunk. ”

Officers say the second-year NFL player had a blood alcohol level of 0.15 percent, which would have been nearly twice the legal limit for driving in Indiana.

Colts president Bill Polian announced the suspension after head coach Jim Caldwell said the team was “definitely not satisfied” the incident.

According to the police report, McAfee asked if swimming in the canal and said “I’m not sure.” He asked why it was wet, McAfee said, “It was raining.”

When asked where was his shirt, McAfee said: “In the water.”

And when he was asked how he had to drink, McAfee said: “A lot, because I’m drunk.”

McAfee became the fourth player Colts arrested on charges related to alcohol this year.

“The fact is that we have to get it rectified,” said Caldwell.

Police were called after a driver at a red light reported that a shirtless man approached his car.

The woman told police she feared the man would try to enter his vehicle while she ran the red light and called 911.
