Ohio Animal EscapeOhio Animal Escape, Shot animals was covered by a field yesterday after the owner of a zoo opened the cages and set them free. The animals include bears, wolves, leopards and tigers that brought panic to the city after leaving the farm of 40 acres.

Most of the animals over 50 were killed by police with assault rifles, while the creatures roamed the nearby streets and the countryside, but locals were warned to stay indoors and schools were closed as officers located the remaining animals.

Sheriff Matt Lutz said: “The animals are mature, very large and aggressive.”

The panic occurs when the owner Terry Thompson zoo cages left open the animals before killing himself. U.S. Police found the body of Mr. Thompson, when they went to his farm after receiving reports of creatures running free in Zanesville, Ohio, on Tuesday.

More than 50 officers spent the night hunting and had orders to shoot to kill, and it was not safe to reassure them in the dark.

There were multiple sightings of animals along a nearby highway traffic signals and flashing said motorists “Caution exotic animals” and “Stay in the vehicle.”

Sheriff Lutz did not say how Mr. Thompson died, but said that when deputies arrived at the Muskingum County Animal farm several aggressive animals were near his body and had to be euthanized.

Orangutans and chimpanzees were in his house, but still in their cages. Agents saw many other animals out of their cages and were shot at sight.

Zoo neighbor Danielle White said a few weeks ago I had to prevent grazing of camels on the side of a road.

He added: “It has always been a fear of mine knowing that I had all the animals. He was in hot water because of them, due to permissions, and the creatures escapes all the time.”

Officials said that Mr. Thompson had permission to keep four bears. Ohio has some of the weaker U.S. restrictions on exotic pets.
