NY HogweedNY Hogweed, Giant hogweed is making its way through New York giant hogweed State.What ‘s? Its tower plant with bunches of flowers the size of umbrellas, which contains the toxic sap that causes blisters and blindness.
That’s why the State Department of Environmental Conservation is asking for help to locate outbreaks so they can send teams to destroy the toxic weed. New Yorkers should call the Giant Hogweed at 845-256-3111 to report sightings, and provide photos of possible outbreaks. However, the agency warns of amateur photographers who do not get too close to plants.

The DEC plans to send six teams to a total of 14 people to visit most of the 944 sites known giant hogweed. But New York is not the only state that is home to giant hogweed – there are 10. Do plants grow parsley in your state? What they are in contact with their sap poisonous?
